The US Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division announced in a press release October 22, 2024, that they have recovered $1 billion in back wages and damages from Jan. 20, 2021 - Sept. 30, 2024. This helped more than 615,000 workers in the United States. This
just shows how some company's disregard their employees. When I read some of the investigations of workers being taken advantage. It makes me angry that company's actively practice in this way. To steal from the pockets of hard-working Americans. Time is money and every worker deserves compensated for every second they are on the job. Alot of time and resources are used to investigate these acts of thief. Some of these workers wait years to get what is owed to them. This right here is another reason workers need to stand together and organize. This is why UNIONS exist, so workers can stand and fight and not be fired at will. Union shops stop these practices at JUMP. Union shop stewards fight every day for their fellow Sisters and Brothers to make sure WE DO NOT GET TAKEN ADVANTAGE.
